1) How did you get involved with the Walk At Home Program? When and Why?
I first saw the infomercial for Walk Away the Pounds years ago.  I could not believe there were people in an exercise DVD that looked like me, overweight. I just remember Leslie talking about “You can do this”. It wasn’t until 1999 when I saw WAP in Wal-Mart. I purchased then and the obsession began. I remember barely making it through the 1 mile walk but having the greatest sense of accomplishment which motivated me to continue.  One of the biggest hindrances to weight loss to me personally is can this really be done?  Walk at Home is a great tool for helping to get it done.

2) What led you to want to be a part of our Walk Leader movement?
I wanted to become a Walk Leader because I was only doing the DVD’s at home alone. I have always wanted to share this experience with others who are unmotivated, couch potatoes like myself. The pain of being overweight is real no matter how many pretend that you can be fat and happy. It’s hard to admit that sometimes but with WAH there is such a sense of I CAN DO THIS and it feels good… I just can’t keep it to myself!! This is health care reform!

3) Please add any other information that you would like to share about your journey becoming a Walk Leader.
With the help of Walk at Home program and God’s diet program I’ve gone from 273 to 195 and still losing. I been inspired to participate in 3k and 5k and ½ marathons that I would have never attempted if it were not for Walk at Home DVDs.
