Here is how I lost over 100 pounds!

Walk Star Nicole successfully lost, AND kept off, 100 lbs. by walking with Walk at Home and with these important tips to remember… right from Nicole herself!

1) The NUMBER ONE WAY I lost weight was to find healthy substitutes for the not so healthy foods I loved. For example, I loved chocolate and found a great healthy snack to conquer that craving. I always eat Vitamuffin Chocolate Vitatops. They are so yummy warm in the microwave. When you look at weightloss that way, it becomes a fun “puzzle” to solve!  I love being a “grocery store detective”.

2) FIND A SUPPORT SYSTEM!! It is so important to find someone or a group of people who are going through what you are going through.  You get lots of motivation, tips, advice, and much needed friendship along this journey!  It makes it so much easier to know that you are not alone and can count on someone in both the good and the bad times because trust me…weight loss is a lot like a roller coaster ride!  Have you ever seen a single person on a roller coaster?  NO! There is a reason for that.

3) WATER IS YOUR FRIEND! I know you have heard it before…but I am telling you…water has bailed me out of many binds! First…we all know we need to drink 8-10 glasses a day and many of you feel like that is a “death sentence”.  It isn’t trust me, especially, if you look at water as your friend! First, I always drink a nice cold glass of water BEFORE any meal! I find that it makes me less hungry. Second, I drink a glass of water whenever I start to feel hungry! Why? Because I want to make sure I am truly hungry and not just thirsty. So that is a rule for me, if I think to myself I would like a snack, I drink a glass of water first and wait 15 minutes. If I am hungry after that amount of time, I will then reach for a snack. Also, there are many ways to “doctor up water”. Many companies make single serving mixes to add to water. I use these…especially the green tea mix. Another fave of mine is the True Lemon packets. I LOVE THESE THINGS! They are just crystallized lemon particles you add to your water. They rock!

I hope these tips help you out like they have helped me! Remember, with a little “detective” work, a lot of support, and a water bottle to carry along the way. This journey will be the “thrill ride” of your life!
