Hi Walkers!

I am so glad you are here to join me and my Walk at Home team for the official launch of our new blog! For years, you have inspired and motivated me to share my love for fitness and health through my DVDs and have shared your personal stories and strength with me on our message boards. This blog is one more way for us all to stay in touch and continue motivating each other to live an active, fulfilled life!

This blog will be a place for the Walk at Home team, along with myself, to share inspiration, news, workout tips and much more. However, most importantly, it will be a place to directly connect with you in the comments section below each post. We look forward to hearing what you have to say – because it’s only a conversation when you’re involved as well!

In the coming weeks you can expect:

  • Tips and tricks for optimizing your workout
  • Personal motivational posts from me, Leslie Sansone
  • Video posts, including short workouts, fitness tips and more
  • Stories from walkers across the country
  • Fun contests and discounts exclusive to the blog

I am most curious, however, to know what you would like to see here on the blog. Do you wonder what I sit down and eat for breakfast every morning? Would you like an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at the Walk at Home studio? Ever wonder about the other Walk at Home team members and how they are involved with the program?

I want to know what is of the most interest to you – so we can make sure to feature it here on the blog! So let me know what you’re thinking in the comments below, and we will do our best to cover it in a future post. Looking forward to reading all your responses!

Walk ON my friends!

Love, Love, Love this idea. I miss the personal video message Leslie did each month. I will feel more connected, as if you are talking to just me. Can't wait to hear what you and your team and other walkers have to say. Also I will be following the 21 day challenge outlined on the August calender. I find this one easy to follow, I need structure and a change, my weight has not moved for four years and I still need to loose weight. At least I havn't put any weight on. Which shows your exercise program is helping me along with good food choices. Thank you Leslie, from lynette in Orlando

Just saw your blog. Wonderful. I love your DVD's. I mixed them up with different ones so I can variety. Will any of your walk leaders be involve with this blog as well. Look forward to hearing from you. Are there any new DVD's in works. I wish you could do something that has step aerobics and more 4-5 mile DVD's with weights. Maybe a new strength training DVD. Thank you.

I love this idea! I miss the personal video messages as well. I look forward to seeing more on choosing healthy eating choices. I love all of the cooking segments on some of the dvd's but since choosing healthy food choices are what hardest for me, that is what I would like to see more of. I would also like to see the "behind the scenes" of the Walk at Home studio. Thank you so much for what you do! Your dvd's is the only fitness program that has actually motivated me to exercise.

Hi Leslie, I don't know anything about blogging but having this as another way to communicate with you and your knowledgeable team is a great idea! I'm looking forward to learning all I can about making healthier choices and staying fit!

Hi Leslie, I have emailed you several times. I'm one of your long time walkers, I only use your viedo's and I have over 50 of them, even some of the VHS ones which I use them all and mix them up. After 2 kids and neck surgery at 44 , Im still walking with you. I wish you would do a show with people like me that have never been way over weight but also know I could gain weight if I did not workout with you. You keep me in shape, you inspire me, you are just like my best friend and I walk with you 6 days a week 10 to 15 miles a day. Im 5'3 and 110lbs, I love it. One time last year after I had my neck surgery I could not afford one of your viedos I wanted, I emailed you and in return you sent me one free, my what a true person you are. I do not know if there is any other women that their husband's get upset at you for working out but mine does, I have even gotten my 10 year old boy and thirteen year old girl to walk with me to your viedos but not my husband. But Leslie keeps me inspired not to let negative people bring me down to keep going. With a metal plate in my neck I still can do all the videos, now that tells you Anybody can do this.I would give anything just to meet and walk with Leslie she can not imagne how much she has helped me in my life. Also I would like to know if Leslie is busy can we email Joe, or Mary? Would they really email us back? That would be awesome. Love you Leslie Pamela McIntire

I am 67 years old and started your 3 mile walk after I recovered from a total knee replacement 3 years ago . I also have had back, heel and toe surgery. I have lost 63 pounds and I have been doing your 5 mile dvd for about 1 1/2 years four times a week and have added a few moves to vary the routine. Some days I use hand weights but most days I use the stretch bands. I love being able to work out in my home on my own time. I usually start my dvd as soon as I get up. Many times I have repeated it in the afternoon if it is to hot(to cold, icey ect.)to walk outside.

I'm so excited about your new blog! I'd like to know about your daily fitness routine. What days do you strength train? Besides walking, what exercises do you most enjoy? I would LOVE an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at the Walk at Home studio! I also want to make a hopeful suggestion for a future DVD: A Mary Kay walk. I'd love to have a 2 or 3 mile walk led by Mary Kay in my collection. Thanks, Leslie! :)

I just "met" Leslie a short time ago and she is so motivating! I love her DVD's and the variety of exercises, including aerobic, strength building and interval training - I love them all. I find myself at a point in my life that it's very hard to motivate myself to exercise. When I do find the motivation, I turn first to Leslie. She is so very inspirational right down to reminding me how blessed I am to be able to exercise. I'm looking forward to reading all the inspirational and motivational messages that Leslie and her team will share on her new blog. Thank You Leslie!

Leslie, I to am so glad you have a blog now. I would also love a behind the scenes look of your studio. I also just want to say that I have 24 of your DVD's now and I just can't get enough of them. I love them all (at least the ones I have done so far.) I just recently bought 6 more of your DVD's that I am really excited to try I am 100% sure I will like them to. I like to do a strength training type video 3 days a week and a Cardio Video 3 days a week. I usually do them for two - three months then I move on to the next set.Right now I am doing one of your older DVD's the firm up fast walk I alternate that with the 2 mile walk aerobics dvd 6 days a week and I have only been doing this set for three weeks and have already noticed a lot more muscle definition in my arms and legs. I LOVE IT!!! I will walk with you for a VERY VERY LONG TIME!!! Your are awesome!!!! :)

Hi Leslie! My husband bought me one of your 2 mile DVDs for mothers day this year. I was a runner for years but had to stop because the high impact was messing up my joints. I had been searching for something to fill what I got from running for almost 4 years. I was frusturated because I couldn't fill the niche and was gaining weight. Your WALK program is my answer!! I LOVE the way I feel after even just a two mile walk, and I love the way the exercises you introduce are safe for the joints. Even the short running boosts are do-able! I have been doing different WALKs of anywhere from 2-4 miles 5 days a week since Mother's Day now! That's almost 3 straight months for me. I love it! I was a runner, but now I am BACK as a WALKER! Thank you for inventing this awesome program!!

I think it would be great to know how Leslie decided to become a walking coach, and what motivates her to keep doing it after over 20 years in the business.

I used to weigh at my highest 250 lbs in 2008 and as of 7-29-10 I weigh 157.2 lbs and counting I also do Weight watchers online since May 2009 and I also do other types of WO dvd's and I take a Zumda class once a week but I will always do your walking dvd's it has helped me in my fitness goals. God bless you. I'm also a member of the walk club since 12-09 and I love it and the challenges. :) Maritza Mumper

Leslie, I'm so excited about your new blog!!! I LOVE YOU! I would enjoy hearing more about you: how you became so knowledgeable about fitness and the human body, how you changed your workout videos over the years, the changes you made to the early aerobics workouts (the ones where you had to learn certain steps and where your "left" or "right" side was important, etc.). I'm also fascinated by the technical facts of your workouts. For example, I think the fact that you change the movements frequently makes it a better workout than a simple stroll around the block, but I'm not sure why. I am interested in the scientific part. You explain things so well; I'm sure you'd make it easy to understand. More than anything, though, I just want you to keep producing DVDs, keep staying healthy and happy yourself, and enjoy your success. You deserve it, for all the millions of people you've helped. THANK YOU FOR ALL YOU DO!

Hi Leslie, You have truly inspired me. I started out Jan 18th at 225lbs with the 2 mile walk and I did that everyday. I then went on to do the 4 mile walk by April and now to the 5 mile walk. I have lost 45lbs so far and I am looking forward to more. I love your excitement and commitment to being healthy. I hope that you continue for many years. I have several of my friends now doing your DVD and they enjoy it as much as I do. Many Blessing to you and your family and thank you for the Joy that you bring to exercising.

I heard about your videos so I checked some out of the library before actually purchasing the dvd's all I have to say is Thank you....They are awesome...I started with 2 miles about 4 weeks ago and now doing the 4 mile dvd, but this week I am stepping it up a notch to do the 5 miles, I do this 5 days a week after dinner and my best thing is that I come home put on my workout clothes, make dinner and then wait about a half hour then go right into working out, this way I don't ever have an excuse not to workout. I have the most energy all night and go to bed feeling refreshed and having the energy I do now is awesome. Thanks....

Hey Leslie and the Walk at home team- My co-workers and I (20+ of us) have been "walking at work" to your awsome CDs on our lunch hour for over a year now and we REALLY have noticed not only how much weight we've lost but how healthy we feel. And because we work in the Public Health Dept. in our county, health is our #1 priority. We have gone from 2 mile in 30 min to 5 miles. We "Sisters-in-sweat" team would like to THANK YOU for helping us and encouraging us to stay healthy. We just purchased the 3 miles/45 min with the bands and it really helps the arm muscles! MUCH THANKS AND GOD BLESS.

Thanks for all your help and encouragement all these years! Sylvia*

Hi Leslie. I have recently found VHS and weighted balls that I have purchased about 9 years ago but never opened. I am almost ashamed to admit that...but now I am very happy to say that I have done the 1 mile and now am doing the 2 mile and can not wait to do the 3 mile one. I have also just purchased 2 of your newer DVD's at our local Walmart. I always sit and watch them before I attempt them and can not wait to go 4 and 5 miles with you. The one DVD is walking and concentrating on arms, legs, tummy, ect. with every 1 mile walked. I am excited about eventually getting to that one. All I can say is thanks so much Leslie for all your help.

Hi Leslie, I started the walking program 1 year ago June. I have not lost a pound so far but have burned off a lot of body fat. Ever since I threw out the scale and vowed never to return to weight watchers, I have seen more results through the walking and weights etc than I ever have just following weight watchers. Weight watchers told me I was exercising too much and was told to cut it back, so my Doctor recommended that I stop weight watchers immediately and continue the walking. I am glad I took his advice. I am focusing on how my clothes are fitting and not the scale. My body shape is changing as well. I am 53 and have age, gender and menopause to deal with also. I am so excited about how my body is looking and that is the motivation I am after. Thank you Leslie for all your motivation during all the workouts. Your words are very inspiring to say the least. The "drinking water, takes water away" comment could not be more true. Thank you for everything and on I go to year number 2 of getting in shape.

Hello Fellow Walkers, I started walking with Leslie back in 1999 when I purchased her Walk Away The Pounds 2 Mile Walk video. I have used that video since then whenever the weather is bad. I have recently purchased her Walk Slim Fast and Firm 4 Really Big Miles DVD. Both of these videos are fun and inspiring. One of the things I really like is that Leslie continues to remind me of what I should be doing during the workout and I love her encouragement. I work 2 jobs and I find it hard to go out to exercise so I have been using the videos exclusively for quite some time and I have to say I believe I get a better workout with Leslie's videos than traditional walking/exercise. I have many friends and family who have recently purchased one or more videos and love them and you can bet I will be adding more to my collection as well. They really are the No Excuse workouts. You can always make time expecially when you don't have to leave the comfort of your own home. Another thing about working out with Leslie at home is you don't have to be self conscious which helps to keep motivation up since one does not have to worry about how they look. I have to say a big Thank You to Leslie for helping me to lose weight and keep it off.

Hi Lesley, Just thought I would leave a quick note of appreciation for your wonderful DVD's over the years. I am really enjoying them and have introduced them to friends and they also have really enjoyed them. I think that you have such a nice easy way about you that is supportive, motivating and encouraging. Thanks for making a difference with the gifts that have been given to you. Hi Leslie Bought your set of videos a few years ago and of course made all kinds of excuses not to use them as I could not get through even the 1 mile and they sat on the shelf. I have your book also. Fast forward to April 2010. I found out I have type 2 diabetes. Changed my diet completely and started walking the dog 2-3 miles a day. Then it just got to hot here(Florida) and I quit. I was feeling quilty and one day I was cleaning out the bookshelf and found your book and DVD's. Popped in the 3 mile super fat blaster and have not looked back. I do it at least 6 days a week and the weight is coming off and my blood glucose is great! I just love the feeling of accomplishment I get when we get to the strtches at the end. There is usaully a few minutes somewhere where I want to quit but you are so encouraging I make it through every time. Just bought your 4 mile and am trying to work up the courage to try it. Thank you for being so inspirational and positive and for the work outs. They very well may have saved my life.

Leslie...one of my finest motivators is having you talk about the health that can be attained by just walking and excercising with you! I don't lose weight well but I can tell you that excercising does make me healthier! I suffer arthirtis and sometimes it's a little painful for me to do the workouts but to NOT do them is much worse! It's helped my blood pressure and my sense of well being! I recently took a "break" from excercising as we were travelling a lot and I've not been working out for over a month now and I can tell you that I'm not feeling nearly as well. I'm anxious to get back into my routine. Thank you for making me so aware of all the health benefits of walking with you! Myrna

Hello Leslie! I am looking forward to my new journey with you and your Walk At Home DVD's. I've always been very self conscious of myself at 270 lbs so this will give me no excuses. I am excited to see what updates you here on your blog as well as hopefully being able to join the Walk Club. Times are tight so I'm trying to save for it. I know the additional support from your group of followers will be the extra push I need.

Well, all i can say is WOW !. everytime I exercise now i feel accomplished. I truly wished I knew about this in high school; then my homecoming dress would have not been a diaster.( all smiles now ) I feel healthier than i've ever felt and I love it. You have inspired me to inspire others that I care about; not without reluctance on their part. So instead of nagging I let the results of this simple, wonderful workout show for itself. Thank you for the motivation. I think i would be interested in knowing how you came upon such a easy and effective routine. I know the goals I have before i turn 30 will be met andd thats such a beautiful feeling. : )

I'm so excited about finally joining the Walk at Home club. I have been working out to your videos for about the last year and a half. It's amazing the inspiration I feel when I'm working out. I hate to even miss a day. I take the DVD's with me on vacation or anywhere I go. I have a long way to go, but have lost 26 lbs so far and am now trying to eat healthier. I'm learning. Thanks for the calming and encouraging talk as we walk. It does make a difference.

I decided today to check my waist size and I have lost 4" on my waist since June 3...that is doing the dvds about 3 - 4 times a week and indulging myself once in awhile when on vacation...I am very pleased because the next time I go to the doctor I am sure my bmi will be in the range it should be for my height and my waistline is under control! I plan to keep going because hey, I love it! Health is the main objective.

Hi Leslie I am 71 years old and pretty fit! I love and have most of your recent DVD's and some old tapes as well. I really need something more advanced that does focus on burning calories and fat. I enjoy the group but prefer the solo with just you. I love the walk/jog (the best) and often do the 1/2 one when I don't have much time. It would be wonderful if you could have a 39=45 minute workout for advanced walkers where we could work up a sweat and get the most out of it without wasting a lot of precious time. Thank you Sandy

Love the Blog and Love, Love, Love your walk tapes. I just wanted to comment that until about ten years ago; I was thin, athletic and had great test results at annual checkups. Over a period of five years my body began to change as I finally reached menapause. I gained about 15 pounds as I struggled with all the other syptoms. Stress, weight gain, sleepless nights, hot flashes, etc all began to take their toll on my emotions and my health. No matter how active I was or how hard I tried to diet; I seemed to have no results. I was exercising at a local workout center three times a week on a 30 minute low impact circuit at the time; eating low calorie meals and could not get the pounds to go away. I had developed the midsection pudge that is so hard on your heart and your self esteem. My doctor and I worked together to try to figure out what the formula would be to get things back on track. Then; four years ago; I discovered your tapes. A friend told me to give them a try and see what I thought. I liked that I could work out any time I wanted to and could wear whatever I felt like wearing and no one would see me. I set a scedule to walk at least three miles every other day no matter what was going on in my life. It took three weeks to see results but I managed to drop the fifteen pounds by walking anywhere from 9 to 15 miles each week depending on what my daily activities were. Now, almost four later I can honestly say, It works! You just have to be faithful and do it! At 61; I will never have the body of a twenty year old; but my test levels are all where my doctor wants them and I feel good in my clothes. I consider myself a success story! Thank you!!!!
