One Good Choice Leads To Another

It is amazing how the little things add up. One fifteen minute walk. Smiling at a stranger you pass on the street. Eating a healthy breakfast in the morning. All these little things add up to one happy, positive life.

However, even more amazing than the sum of all those little parts, is the chain reaction that one good decision starts. That one positive, little effort begins a chain reaction of other good decisions – it’s inevitable. When you feel good about any single decision you make, your body and mind feel more energized and empowered to make another.

Don’t believe us? We challenge you to try it for yourself, by making one of these small decisions today.

  • Buy a bag of apples instead of a bag of chips.
  • Take the stairs instead of the elevator.
  • Meet a friend for a walk instead of watching a half-hour of television.
  • Do 30 jumping-jacks during your lunch break.
  • Skip your afternoon soda, and drink a glass of water instead.
  • Tell a family member or friend you love them.
  • Smile and say hi to three co-workers you don’t normally interact with.
  • Add a cup of any vegetable to your dinner tonight.

There are so many other small choices to be made - which one did you make today?

No matter what you picked, we’ll be surprised if it doesn’t lead to a second or third good decision. And if not, don’t fret – you made one great decision, and that is something to celebrate in itself!

Happy decision making,

My favorite suggestion is the smile. It's amazing how a little thing like a smile can snowball! It doesn't take much effort and it can make someone's day. (Hugs too!)

We had a rainy day here and grocery shopping with two small children. I was looking for comfort but instead of getting a yummy hot chocolate like the one I got for the oldest child to enjoy....I got a healthy unsweetened iced tea!

The 'smiling' suggestion is the most fun!!! Especially while driving! Rush hour traffic can be challenging and its so relaxing to look at the driver next to me, while sitting at a redlight, and just SMILE! Contagious!! And allowing another driver to make a turn into your lane and smiling at them has them smiling as well! It just FEELS GOOD!! Cheryl

We were traveling this week and hoped that the hotel where we staye had a fitmess center but they did not. Good thing I brought my pink stretch band so I could at least do some firming exercises. I think that was a good choice.

Have been passing along your 14 minute YouTube sample to friends who have been ill for a variety of reasons and it is encouraging for them to be able to start small with a one mile that isn't too taxing...it will build strength as they heal. And then they can move on to a two mile. When I had a bit of a health scare myself this summer, I had started in on your dvds. I modified them to fit how I was feeling and slowly chipped away each day at it until I was given a clean bill of health. I was all set to sprint by that time. Maybe you should consider a dvd just for health challenged...slow and steady all the way...already a title...and build gradually...maybe even a segment of just upper body for the wheel chair bound or the hospital bed bound. I know if a person doesn't have any direction whatsoever, they have no idea where to start or how to continue when they want to so badly get back into health after a debilitating illness. Anyway, as always, I am addicted to your dvds and continue to lose weight bit by bit and continue to rev up my health...it has given me confidence in my health and ability to maintain it for life.

Let’s hear from you!
