It’s our MOST IMPORTANT MUSCLE

and it’s so much MORE than a muscle!

The heart weighs just under 1 pound …. UNDER 1 POUND!  It beats about 2.5 BILLION times over a lifetime.  Only in the last 100 years have we had an explosion of science and research to understand heart function, heart disease, heart health… and all of it tells us to GET ACTIVE and STAY ACTIVE for a lifetime!

BRISK WALKING is all it takes.  What exactly defines brisk? Walking 3.0 – 3.9 miles per hour, or 15-20 minutes per mile, is considered brisk.  The majority of our miles are at least 4.0 miles per hour – you almost always get a 15 min/mile with our DVDs!  Many of ours even offer the FAST 12 min/mile walks!  No matter how you do it, your BRISK WALK means a STRONGER, HEALTHIER HEART.  And you know what that means: a longer, healthier, and happier life!

Researchers say if you walk briskly for three hours a week, about 15 miles total, men and women will reduce the risk for coronary heart disease by 30 to 40 percent!! This is HUGE NEWS!  15 miles a week is about 3 miles a day.  45 minutes of your day TODAY could mean extra healthy years down the road to spend with your family and friends! And remember: you don’t have to do walk it all at once!  Split it up – make your “WALKouts” convenient for you so that you can STICK TO IT!

Check out our Heart Healthy Walk DVD online by clicking HERE.  There’s a 5 minute clip with some brisk walking.  Push aside that desk chair and take a quick break!!

Walk for a healthier you from the INSIDE-OUT!

Happy MONDAY!!!

This recent blog from Leslie is VERY IMPORTANT news! Your heart is the epicenter of all you do & we need to take special care of it! Am I a doctor? No. I am someone who lost her father just after his 50th birthday when I was just 17 years old to a sudden heart attack. That tragedy was almost 30 years ago and I am sure he would've done better if he knew better back then. In fact, I am positive he would be joining me on my walks now and enjoying his 13 grandchildren if he took care of his ticker back then! He has my motivation (I am now just shy of 45 years old) to walk everyday without excuses and live a lifestyle that will see me well past my 50th birthday! YOU HAVE THE INFORMATION TO PROTECT YOUR HEARTS! Don't let your own tragedy wake you up to how critical this message is!

That's good news! I have been off for about a week and a half from your videos because I'm pregnant at 35 weeks and the fast miles started bothering my pelvic muscles. However, today I found your video for seniors and downloaded it so that I could continue at a pace for late pregnancy. Worked like a charm and I think I'm still at a fast enough pace! Thanks as usual Leslie!

I just have a question. What is best for toning: light weights/more reps or heavier weights/less reps? Thanks.

Hi Leslie, I'm 56 years old and was recently diagnosed with osteopenia. How about a video for those of us who are dealing with osteoporosis/osteopenia. Something that might incorporate a little more strength training. As a former bodybuilder I love your routines but would like to see more strength training for my bones. Thanks!

Let’s hear from you!
