GOOD TUESDAY WALKERS!!!

So what do you do when you are super committed to this 21 Day Challenge and have a 3 Mile Walk all scheduled ….  you are just lacing up your walking shoes (had my cables all ready for the BIG BOOST) and the phone rings …… “come for a bike ride” …. it’s one of the last chances for this season to ride one of my favorite trails …. hmmmm …. I need a 45 min. dose of exercise to satisfy the challenge today ….   WHAT TO DO???  Hey … wait for me …. I am coming too!!!!!  So … did I fail my plan because I went biking???  Absolutely NOT!  It was exactly the right choice for yesterday  ….  I choose the activity that I don’t get to do on a regular routine …. oh how our muscles and bones and heart and lungs and nervous system and circulatory system ….LOVES this! Surprise the body with new activity – it’s so healthy!  I certainly BIKED OFF LUNCH yesterday and it makes me even more motivated to do my 3 Miles today!  I am doing the Mini Walks DVD – it has (3) 1 Mile Walks … lunch is all planned  and I love knowing I HAVE A PLAN!  What a fun week knowing we are all walking together …. lunching together … it’s going to be a great WEEK 2 everybody …. oh and by the way …. turn phones off so you can’t get interrupted during your miles …. I was lucky with that call …. what if it was a “Hey can you come to a Labor Day pie eating contest with me ????”

Happy Day 9 Walkers!

After years of dedicated exercise an injury curtailed my activity. I am much better but I must work to keep muscles & body in order to keep my piriformis syndrome at bay. But I need to become so much more inspired and dedicated to exercise AND weight loss to help shed these extra unwanted pounds and be physical fit. I have many Walk at Home tapes & DVD's and I try to be consistent but I can find so many other things to do and wind up not doing what I know I should do. I have a big yard and lots of gardens areas so I spend time do this but I need more and I need more motivation. I am hoping to find this inspiration from Leslie and more interaction with the Walk Club. HELP!!!

Welcome Judith! There is PLENTY of motivation and camaraderie here! I've just recently started doing Leslie's videos and I find them quite inspiring. Granted, some days I just don't feel like it, but once I start Leslie's infectious laugh gets me going. The next thing I know, I've walked 2 miles!

I have a question, I really want to succeed at this challenge but I'm discovered a obstacle...I am attending the Women of Faith Conference in Philadelphia this Friday and Saturday......I can exercise Saturday night once I get back but in order to squeeze it in on Friday I'd have to get up at 4:30 to have time to exercise, shower, breakfast and head to my friends house where we will take the long drive together.....is it cheating if I don't exercise that day but instead do a total of 6 miles on Thursday...I took off from work that day for some "me" time so I'll have plenty of time to exercise......what do you think?

ooouuuu no 4:30 am alarms for me !!!! Hello Brenda ... no worries at all .... if it was me ... I'd be so ready to give my "spirit" a walk ... I wouldn't worry about the exact Miles or Minutes of exercise for that day .... but you may feel better about the day if you have something to measure .... on Friday ... try walking for 2, 3, or 5 mins. at every break in the conference ... also ... if you can stand in the back of the room at lectures or presentations ... even for a few minutes .... the point is .... when you get a chance "move" or "stand" - at the end of the day you will be surprised that just choosing to move every chance you get ... it all adds up! Please enjoy the Women of Faith Conf. knowing you are not interrupting your challenge ... in my book ... you are rising to the bigger challenge .... a fit spirit ! All God's Blessings doll ... and a short answer to your question .... yes ... you can catch up with 6 Miles on Thurs. .... or would 4 today / 4 Thurs. / and 4 Sat. work for you??? OK ... I'll stop now ... you know I could go on and on .... awesome Brenda! Leslie

Dear Leslie, You touched my heart this evening! I was so happy to see you responded and answered my question! I love your ideas, in fact I just finished doing 4 miles. I did the 3 super miles with bands and then the 1 fast mini mile---I love the shift move! I will definately get up and move around on each break at the conference and I will also be walking from the hotel to the conference. I can hear your kindness in your words, thank you!!!!!!! I know I will enjoy the conference, it's my 3rd year attending and each time I leave feeling so much better about myself and more connected with God and overall just happier! If you ever have a chance to attend you should, you would love it! LOL, now I'm going on and on :0) Hope you are having a great night! Hugs,Brenda

Someone referred me to Leslie's walk at home videos. I do the 1 mile video every day. It is easy to follow no matter what size you are. I am sure I will be ready to upgrade to 2 miles soon. I feel so invigorated after doing the walk video. I had bariatric surgery (by no means is this the easy way out), and this walk at home video is perfect for someone who sat dormant for so many years.(me) Thank you Leslie for making walking so easy to do.
