We’re a little over half way through the September Success challenge and thought it would be the perfect opportunity to showcase one of the ways to really amp up you workouts – with the SUPER walk!

Just what makes a walk SUPER? Well, there are several possibilities. A healthy breakfast or lunch to fuel you, for example. Or perhaps some inspirational advice from a friend to help motivate you. In this case, however, our SUPER walks are a result of the newest addition to our line of walking equipment – the Walk Body Boost Cables! These resistance bands come in blue or grey in our online store and are used in our Walk, Eat, Lose program to light up the muscles of the entire body by offering resistance through each movement, giving you even bigger results as we move through these 21 days of fitness and fun.

Here are just a few of the ways that the Body Boost cables can amp up your traditional walking workouts:

  1. The body becomes an anchor for the cables, which means that you will engage muscles deep in the body that act as stabilizers while you’re moving in many directions.
  2. You will no longer just be working the top layers of muscle. As you engage the deep muscle layers mentioned above, you will automatically be burning more calories.
  3. The Body Boost cables are a safe way to add light strength training to your workouts, and it shows up on you as a leaner, slimmer and more well proportioned body. Sounds great!

The Body Boost cables come assembled, but you are able to adjust the resistance levels via the red stopper located on the hand grip. When you keep the elastic band long, it offers the lightest resistance. But if you pull up on the red stopper and pull the elastic band through the hand grip to make it shorter, the resistance is greater and there is more intensity, which makes for a more challenging workout.

To adjust, simply lift up on the red stopper on the hand grip and pull the band to the desired length. You can wrap any extra elastic band around the red stopper before closing, to keep everything compact.

When you have the band set at the desired resistance level, you can simply stretch the elastic part of the foot attachment around your walking shoes, right underneath the arches of your feet to keep them secure. Grasp each of the hand grips – and you’re now ready for a SUPER walk that will engage your body in new and exciting ways!

Have you used our Body Boost cables before? We’d love to hear your opinions in the comments!

I recently bought the Walk, Eat, Lose system just in time for this challenge and I must admit I was a bit skeptical about these Booster Cables. During the first week I only used them for every other day of walking the 2 mile program, but during this week I've used them every day except one for my three mile walks. I really enjoy using them and feeling the deep muscle working without feeling sore the next day. They are a fabulous new tool to use during the walk. What is the difference between the blue and grey version?

Oh I love these bands! This is my second time doing the super walks 21 day challenge and I use the bands every time with the super walks. I also have your hand weights, the pink stretchie band and the ab belt but the cables are my favorite because I can really feel all of my muscles getting a better strenght/resistance training and not just my upper body. I'm a pear shape so I really need to tone up that lower body and the bands really help!

I have started the 5 day slim down program and have already lost 20pds and have went from and 16 to a 14 in pants. That was very exciting when I was able to ware the 14. Still have some 16 but they are very loose. Love doing the one mile a day. It's just what I needed. This has been a blessing.

I love the bands!!!!! I use them now instead of trying add a 30 minute strength training three nights a week after work - I am much more faithful to doing my daily walk and using the bands than I was to getting up at 5 to walk and then trying to add strength training at night after work. What a blessing the Walk, Eat, Lose system is! Today I brought the Mini Walks disc to work so I can add another mile or two at lunchtime - I have been walking for almost two years, and every time I try a new program, I think to myself, "This is the best program ever. I'll never go back to the old one," and every program is just better and better, more pumped up, more calories burned. I do the 3 Mile Walk, Eat, Lose three days a week and the 5 Fat Burning Miles on alternate days - what a blessing you are in my life!

How do you use these bands? I have the walk belt and the toning band. Leslie- thank you so much for your DVDs!! I have had a difficult time trying to lose the 15 plus pounds I had gained last year. I am in my 4th year of remission from cancer and have problems with my thyroid due to my chemo and radiation. This along with turning 50 this year have made weight loss frustrating! Adding your DVDs to my life has helped me get the weight off! Thank you again and please extend my thanks to all of your "sisters in sweat"!! Love and God's blessings- Debbie

Hi Leslie, I've recently started your exercise dvds and I'm really enjoying them. I've worked up to the 4 mile walk and have learned to use the walk belt, hand weights and stretchie band. I'm interested in getting the booster cables but I'm not sure how to use them with the videos I already have. Do I need to purchase the Walk, Eat, Loose system first? Thank you for making my mornings so fun. I live in Beaver County and maybe someday I'll venture up to your studio! Blessings, Colleen

Let’s hear from you!
